How We Rank Listings: Standard Sorting Criteria

Last updated: 12 September 2025

When you search for a parking, the results are initially sorted by 'Default' order. Our algorithm uses a variety of factors to determine the order. The importance of each factor can shift over time and vary by location, based on how people use the site and how well the parking performs.

Here are the key factors that influence a parking's position in the default ranking:

  • What you indicate you are looking to book - such as country, airport, dates, departure and arrival times - and which of our parkings are available.
  • A parking’s performance on our platform:
    • Average Gross Merchandise Value (GMV): The average total value of bookings for a specific parking.
    • Average Order Value (AOV): The average price of a single booking.
    • Review score: The average rating given by customers who have used the parking.
    • Number of bookings: Count on reservations a parking has received.
    • Take Rate: The percentage of the booking value that Parkos receives.

New Parking Locations:

To ensure new parking locations have a fair chance to appear in search results, we apply average values of the airport for their first 30 days. This gives them time to build a history of bookings and reviews.

Other Sorting Options:

You have full control over how you view your search results. If you prefer not to use our default ranking, you can easily sort the results yourself using the following options:

  • Price low - high: Ranks results from cheapest to most expensive.
  • Price high - low: Ranks results from most expensive to cheapest.
  • Closest to the airport: Ranks results by distance, from nearest to farthest.
  • Top rated: Ranks results by customer review score, from highest to lowest.
